Venerable Master Hueiguang was born in Taiwan. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego in 1994, he left the pursuance of a career in medicine and vowed to practice the Dharma in order to propagate the noble teachings for the ultimate benefit of all sentient beings.
After Venerable Hueiguang renounced his layman livelihood, he completed his monastic training at Tsung Lin University in Taiwan
The International Bodhisattva Sangha (IBS) was formally established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in November 2006. One of our main goals is to educate inmates in the state prions about Buddhism, meditation and right way of life. We have been doing this for 18 years. We setup libraries and Sangha in the CA state prison. There are 21 libraries and 11 Sangha so far. We are visiting total of 8 prisons.
Dharma books are playing very important role in inmate's life. There are hundreds of inmates in California prisons learning about Dharma because of they have access to different books from Buddhist library. There are 21 libraries already establish in 8 prisons. There lots more to setup. IBS planning to setup 4 more libraries this year; please join and support us to make it happened.
