今天我們到了Deuel州立監獄。這是全加州最古老的監獄之一。他們的社區勞役任，Martini 女士，事先已安排我們在下午5:30到7:30舉行一場佛學課。但我們仍提早抵達，想和她討論能否請我們到更多她的獄場去講佛學課。她很慈悲也很明理，立即答應我們下次的参訪會增設兩個獄場的佛學課。 今天的佛學課共有16名學生参加。他們大多不是佛教徒。有些人尚無任何宗教信仰，有些人則是進來查看我們的佛教課在教些什麼內容，不一而止。我也教他們練習正念的禪坐。今天的課也很圓滿，大家都學得興緻勃勃。我們今天也在這所監獄設立了三個佛教圖書室。 我們此行至今已經成立了13 個圖書室。這都歸功於所有捐贈者的發心賛助我們這個監獄圖書室的活動。 昨天去投宿旅館的路上，我們開錯了路，不小心開到 Stockton的市中心，看到無數的遊民露宿在公路的立交橋的橋下。很多是全家連同小孩住宿在此。今晨我和 Jamyang 到附近的超市場去買了一些要给他們的水果、礦泉水和餅乾等乾糧。 我們把這些食物装入一些午餐袋內，再開去Stockton 市中心去發放给那些遊民。可是遊民人數實在太多了，我們只走了一小段的街道，那些準備好的80個午餐袋就全部發完了。 回想起來，昨天的迷路誤竄入Stockton 的市中心，可說是因禍得福，能讓80個人一飽口福。阿彌陀佛!
